In a world driven by social media approval, vanity, and selfishness, I came across a strong beautiful entrepreneur who refuses to engraft herself into this new world system, she is Ms. Valerie Tate.
The beautiful Ms. Valerie Tate, also known as “Unmistakably Flawed”, is a viral, Facebook, and social media sensation! She is well known and loved by her fans for her honesty and her real-life approach to selling her makeup.
The first time I saw her on "Facebook Live", she reminded me of a favorite auntie”. The auntie that keeps it “100”! The first thing that stood out to me about this beautiful woman was her kind nature and self- confidence! When someone tried to insult her, she didn’t allow their opinion of her to thwart her self-image. I found Valerie to be fascinating, unique, and very encouraging! She just does Valerie! I love that about her! She’s such a free spirit! She’s comfortable in her own skin.”
She is unique because of her realness. Everything she does just comes off real. Not Hollywood, not fake, but real. So real that she puts her whole look together right in front of your eyes. Many women wouldn’t dare let anyone, including spouses, see them “in the raw”, but not this confident woman! She’s not afraid to let it all hang out! Her message speaks is loud and clear. “It's ok to be who God created you to be. You don’t have to hide your natural you for anyone. Be able to look at yourself in the mirror and love the person staring back at you. All of you, even your flaws. It's ok.

Tell us about who you are and a little bit about your background and what makes you unique?
I'm a mother of three daughters, one son, and three grandchildren. I am also the owner/CEO of Vltbeauty https://vltbeauty.com/
Tell us about your business. What services do you offer?
Vltbeauty is an online cosmetic store that also has general merchandise like coffee cups, tee-shirts, etc.
When did you decide to start your own business and why?
It was in 2016 when the doctor told me I couldn’t work anymore and I had just started trying to wear makeup and found how relaxing it was so, I started doing research for that.
What would you say is the secret to a successful business?
Honesty and communication with the customers
Have you ever felt like you wanted to give up?
Of course. I think we all go through things sometimes.
What was the biggest challenge that you have experienced owning your own business?
Me being the only one to run the whole operation.
Have you ever experienced negativity from those closest to you? family or friends? How would you encourage those who are experiencing negativity to power through?
Of course. There is always gonna be someone close to you who doesn't believe in what you're doing. Stay positive and keep focused on YOUR dream.
What are your future goals regarding your business?
I hope to formulate my own eyeshadow pallet.
What advice would you give new business owners?
Keep digging in, even when the rough times come. Always believe in yourself!
